Katrina received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education as well as her Masters in Teaching Elementary Education at James Madison University. She always knew she wanted to be an elementary school teacher and has a true passion for working with children. Katrina began her teaching career in Chesapeake, VA teaching fourth grade. After meeting her husband, the Air Force brought them to Biloxi, MS where she taught sixth and first grade. In her five years of teaching, Katrina has had experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, articulation disorders, sensory procession disorders, ADHD, learning disabilities, and developmental delays. She also has worked very closely with special education teachers, autism specialists, and speech therapists in the schools to best meet the needs of her students. In addition, she also has years of experience working with children in daycares, as a cheerleading coach for a city team and local high school team, and as an in-home nanny. After moving to San Diego, Katrina was interested in a career change that would still allow her to work in a field that was committed to helping children and their families. She believes the key to a child's success is creating a fun, healthy, and positive learning environment for them to grow independently as well as creating and maintaining strong family relationships.
